Vernon's web-based openOPUS Asset and Contract Management program provides organizations with centralized access and control over their distributed technology.

OpenOPUS allows customers to see all their rental contracts and all their rental computer assets on these contracts. You can view the status of your orders whether they are on contracts prior to shipping; which orders are active; find out which contracts are due to be returned; view all your invoices and be able to tell which invoices are outstanding. You can even email yourself a PDF copy of the invoice. Any of the OpenOPUS reports such as the Assets On Rent report can be emailed to yourself or downloaded to your browser. You no longer have to keep a separate ledger of those assets that you rent from VTS - all you need to do is log into OpenOPUS.

In addition there are three user-defined fields (UDFs) on the assets whose contents are solely at your discretion. You can use these fields to identify departmental ownership, track internal cost centers and PO's and identify software license keys. These are just some possibilities as to how you can use these fields; these data areas are yours so that you can enter any information that you wish.

Though the use of these fields, OpenOPUS allows customers to establish acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and tracking and disposal procedures in order to help reduce the cost of ownership, enhance end-user productivity, and ensure software license compliance.
